Potterhead

I have a confession, which is no surprise if you know me much at all.

I am a Potterhead. I've never used that term before, but it is true.

I always knew I was a fan. I read all the books (took 1-3 days each from their time of release), had them all on audio, read/listened to them more times than I care to admit, went to all the movies in theaters, had at least 3 midnight premieres, bought them all (except the 7.2) on DVD, bought them all on DVD, watched more youtube interviews with the cast than all other youtube videos combined, and cannot wait for the day I get to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. So... I think that would classify me as a fan.

But I had a moment. I moment when I realized I am, in fact, a Potterhead.

I don't do football. I don't understand it. I think it's boring. So I don't watch the superbowl. I browse pinterest instead.

There are a lot of Harry Potter related things on Pinterest.

I reminisced. I laughed. I was amazed at some of the filmography facts. I was even more amazed at the depths of JK's world post-books. I cried at the accounts of the Weasley's post-Fred. I was filled with the desire to download all the books onto my Kindle (all the physical copies are in storage for now) and read them. I will probably watch all the movies here shortly. I feel the need to watch the Black Lady movie with Daniel Radcliffe and the Perks of Being a Wallflower with Emma Watson (which I have wanted to see ever since I heard it was being made, but cannot with a baby).

Long Sigh.

Thank you, JK Rowling, for creating an alternate universe for my childhood. I came of age with Harry. Just like when songs bring you back to moments in life, Harry Potter brings me back to that decade of my life.

I will be asked if I still love Harry Potter "after all this time?"

My answer will eternally be, "Always."
