Our First Army Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! I admit it, I'm a sucker for Valentine's Day. I'm not all about decorating the house and putting pink all over etc etc etc... but when my kids go to school and have Valentine's parties I will all over handmade Valentine's and helping out with snacks. I also have been blessed with an amazing man who loves to give me pretty flowers, Valentine's Day being no exception.

My soldier is at Fort Benning, but we are able to talk on the phone, text, and skype. Baby and I are in Michigan. We are not able to spend Valentine's Day together, but we will soon be able to spend every day together! I did receive a lovely little rose bush in the mail. Matt chose the planter specifically for me - and he did GREAT! I love it and know it will fit perfectly in many places in our future home. Hopefully the little rose bush will survive on it's own while we're away for graduation and then the journey to our new home. But seriously, a rose bush? That is so adorable! I love it!

Yes, baby did wear red today. Yes, I did wear pink today. We were all in the Valentine's Day spirit and everything. We had a good day of smiles, giggles, stink eyes, and yummy snacks. We were able to skype Daddy briefly but baby wanted to crawl all around the house during that time so it was short lived. Baby is gaining so much independence! It will be nice having our own home so I can set everything up baby proof and Jack can just roam free. He will be so much happier than having to stay in his play yard.

I am so thankful for my  two Valentine's. First, the love of my life. On our first Valentine's Day together in 2005 Matthew got me the cutest teddy bear, Rufus, I've ever seen. Literally, he is just adorable and so fluffy and the perfect size. I then lost him that summer when I was living at my grandparents for a month to help them with some work. A couple of years ago my dad sent me a text with my bear. He had found it at my grandparents new home when they moved! They sold a lot of their possessions when they moved. I am glad my bear was kept! He now sits proudly in Jack's room. No, he is not Jack's bear, but he is among other plush friends. I am so thankful I have that fluffy friend for when Matt is away. Second, my wonderful baby, Jack. He is my pride and joy. He is my 9-5... and 6-8 after that! He has made my life so much more fulfilling and so much more full in general.

I am so thankful for my two Valentine's. I am so blessed.
