My Wardrobe Confession

I have a wardrobe confession. Sometimes I am quite, quite proud of this. Other times I am a bit sheepish/ embarrassed. But today, I am proud.

So... getting me in a Goodwill in Grand Rapids is dangerous! I say I'm only going to buy these three specific items if I find them... and walk out with a cart full of items... because really, they were too good to pass up!

Now, Grand Rapids has a bunch of exceptional Goodwill stores. The items are divided by season, style, and size. Easy peasy for looking for yourself (or others). I have never not been able to find good quality (and sometimes brand new) items from J. Crew, Gap, Banana Republic, The Limited, and Loft (among others, but those are my favorite brands). Now, while I do enjoy going to the actual stores and buying something completely new every once in awhile, it pains me to spend the money on it when I could probaby find it at Goodwill for a much, much lower price tag.

So, today I went to Goodwill. I did find 2 out of 3 items on my list... and a whole bunch of other items. My wardrobe did "need" a makeover, however. That is my justification. And... my total bill would have been less than two of the items at regular price. It works, right?

One thing I was not expecting to find, a new iPhone case! I liked the one I had, but it was kinda an only choice at the time kind of deal. It was speck brand and I liked the design a lot. Well, this new case is speck as well, is turquoise (which is a color phase I'm currently going through), and has birds on trees on the back. Perfection! So now I have a new case and a spare in case anything should happen to this one or if I just need to switch it up. So happy!

Also, Pinterest and blogs have done wonders for my personal style! I used to be a top, bottom, shoes, the end kind of person. Now, I have to pick a belt, decide if I am going to wear boots, which determines what jeans I'm going to wear, and then choose a necklace or scarf or both. Style can be exhausting (sarcasm). But, thanks to Pinterest, I know can purchase items I know will be staples in my closet due to the plethora of ways I can style them! The price tag from Goodwill sure helps too.

I will be going through my wardrobe tonight to get rid of some older items, stained items, or items I just really don't like. Just think, some of my clothes are in storage too! Some of those items I know I will keep, but some will be getting the boot once I unpack when we move.

In short, though, today was a great day because I got some amazing items and got clothes for Matt's OCS graduation in a week and a half!
