I never noticed that my 50 week post never published, so you get two weekly posts super close together!
I can't believe Jack's birthday is next week! Now that we wear shorts and t shirts though, he looks like such a little boy and not a baby!
This week we began working on sleep training again. We've been working on him falling asleep without nursing and trying to get him attached to a stuffed animal or blankie (or both). He's actually been doing great! We've also fallen into a good bedtime routine here. Same as in MI, a bath and storytime, nurse, then snuggle to sleep. He's been taking 1 nap around 1ish for 1.5-2 hours! That has been so nice. When he wakes up after 20-30 minutes I try to get him back to sleep for a good nap. I've been reading The No-Cry Sleep Solution and have been taking those tips!
Jack is learning so much! He is saying DaDa consistently for Matt now. He remembers which toys have buttons and what each of them do. He knows that one door on the media center has a lock and the other doesn't (yet). He had been working on going down the stairs on his own, but still prefers to be carried.
Jack has been attaching to Matt more. He will go to Matt when he comes home and allows him to snuggle him when he's hurt or scared. He used to always only want me. It is so amazing to watch my two men together. We go for walks together and go to the park and swing. We love this warm weather and family time!
Jack has been reluctant to keep practicing walking. After those first steps last week he hasn't wanted to take any more. He will walk holding one or both of or hands, but not on his own. All in good time.
On 3-16 I gave Jack his first haircut! Nothing dramatic, just trimming up his bangs, around his ears, and the back. The back looks SO much better! The sides got a little messed up, but not too bad for my first time. The bangs look a lot better too. We still do a combover look, but when the front falls over his forehead it doesn't go past his eyebrows anymore. The top is still a lot longer than the sides. I'm excited for when it evens out some.
We got out his highchair (the house is slowly coming unpacked, thankfully!) this week. It is so nice being able to feed him and not have him crawling all over the floor!
I have been preparing for his birthday! I can't wait! We found out yesterday that my mom and dad are coming! I made his invited and am mailing them tomorrow. I bought some party supplies and the mold for the cake. I am so excited! It's a bit ridiculous for a 1-year-old's party, but it's still so fun!
