34 Weeks

34 Weeks! My stickers I ordered start going 2 weeks at a time now! Almost baby time! I seem so big now, but I know there's a lot of growth to come!

Now that we're getting close to the end I've been making sure everything is ready. It's hard because I'll do a "chore" and have to sit for like an hour to recuperate. So it makes the going slow. Plus I have to make sure I'm giving Jackson some good loving and attention.

So some things I've done to prepare:
*scrubbed the doors and a couple walls in the nursery that  must've missed when I cleaned our house when we moved in. I seriously don't know how the people who lived here before us lived the way they did. Major slobs! I don't even want I know what was on the walls!
*I ordered the doubles kit for our jogging stroller. No, I'm not a jogger, but the stroller is so smooth! Love it! It is a Phil&Ted's and the doubles kit is a seat that can attach to the front of the stroller in front of the baby bassinet portion or into the basket in the back. This way you can easily accommodate an infant and toddler or two toddlers! I was planning on waiting to order the doubles kit, but I looked online and the seat was only available in red (our stroller is black) and in limited quantities! Since I got the stroller for Jack it is an older version. So I went ahead and ordered the seat- I found it for half the price on amazon too! It's good I'll have it right away because our other double stroller doesn't accommodate an infant car seat, so now I can use the jogger when Daniel is napping etc. I also ordered a sunshade for the second seat- don't want my kiddos being uncomfy or getting sun burnt in the summer!
*washed newborn clothes and newborn cloth diapers. All fresh and ready to go! I need to wash all our burp cloths, blankies, and the boppy cover too. I was planning on making some new burp cloths, but the others should still work fine so it would be kinda frivolous. They did have a weird yellow stain on them when I unpacked them. Same with some baby clothes- not sure what it is or where it came from. I'm going to treat them and hopefully it comes off. Not knowing what it is kinda grosses me out.
*mostly packed my hospital bag! Hopefully we'll only stay one night so we can get home to Jackson. I will write a post with what's in my bag once I finalize everything.

Symptoms:
*baby hasn't dropped yet. He has always been lower than Jackson and makes me fairly uncomfortable. But he still wiggles up to my ribs every so often. There have been a couple times he's stretched and made it hard for me to breathe or he's knocked into my ribs. But still no large kicks!
*nausea- when he moves so low it stirs up my insides. So it feels kinda like we're back in the first trimester at times! At least it comes and goes. Poor Jackson gets so worried about me when I'm throwing up.
*Sore hips, thighs, and calves. Just normal wear and tear for the end.
*When baby flips or stretches (bigger movements) it feels like he's close to ripping me open. Still no stretch marks (even the Dr. commented on how nice my belly was growing!) but I don't know how much more my little belly and uterus can take!
*Insomnia- can't fall asleep until12 or 1 most nights, no matter how tired I am. *Lots of contractions. Still much more uncomfortable than BH ever were with Jackson, but I figure if they're not bad enough to wake me during a nap/at night then it's not labor.
*Slight spotting Saturday. Not enough to call the Dr. or anything, but still not what you want to see. I also had low cramping and just a lot of discomfort, not while contracting. The Dr. said my cervix was softer than normal at my last appointment, so hopefully it's just thinking out.
*Half belly button popped out. My belly button never fully popped with Jackson. It'll be interesting to see if it sticks out further than the rest of my belly by the time Daniel is born.
*weighed myself this morning and I've gained 26 lbs. I was worried the weight would pile on this last trimester since baby does so much growing. One lb. in 2 weeks is definitely ok by me!
*colostrum had started coming in and I've leaked a little. Oh boy, my body is getting ready for another (hopefully) two years of nursing! While I am super excited for that bond with my baby, I am a little sad because I just got my girls back to myself! Haha.

Cravings:
*milk- but makes me feel icky.
*String cheese.
*Donuts.

Aversions:
*decaf coffee. I limit caffeine during pregnancy and normally just drink a cup of English Breakfast Tea in the morning. I had decaf coffee a couple time recently and threw up after each time. I like the taste of the tea much better anyways.

My hair has gotten so long! Either way I need to get it at least trimmed, but I really want to chop it. Matt likes it long, like most guys. I just get annoyed with it ring everywhere (like my neck or shoulders, kinda silly, I know). When I put up it's better... But since I nap almost every day now it makes it difficult to get comfortable. I want to cut it closer to chin length, but if I cut it shorter I don't think Matt would be ok with that. We're talking about a couple inches past shoulders. But pregnancy sure makes your hair grow quickly! And my hair grows quickly on it's own anyways!

On that note, my nails have been super brittle. I keep them fairly short anyways, but if I don't clip them every week they chip. I have been using strengthener and no polish (ain't nobody got time for that!) and it has been helping.

Phew- just had another contraction. When I have them, they come grouped close together and strong. Then I'll have a break. This week they haven't been as often, except one day when I had 3 or more every hour. So it's nice that it's slowing down slightly.

I have an appointment this week so we'll see if I've kept progressing. I hope I have. I had plans to go to Gaitlinburg to a cabin with my Lynchburg girlfriends this weekend, but I'm not planning on it anymore. It would've been a 4.5 hour drive one way and I just don't know how well my belly, bladder, and legs would take that. I'm sad I won't see them, but I will be 35 weeks then. Definitely don't want to go into labor away from home!

One last thing, had another massage yesterday. It helps with my tension headaches so much! I'm so thankful we're able to afford these massage. Plus, it's so nice right now just to relax while my muscles are more tense in general. Definitely recommend for all my Preggo friends!
