Woken up at 6 am by a two-foot-tall morning monster wanting to snuggle in bed. I pulled him up and gave him my phone while I shut my eyes a bit more. He played games and watched some Pixar while I slowly woke up. Breakfast for Mumma and toddler since Daddy woke up much earlier due to habit. (The rest of this may be out of order because honestly, I've been suffering from major pregnancy brain!)
Throughout the morning I folded laundry, made and hung a Christmas wreath, hung a picture over the mantle and finished Christmas-ing the mantle, and played with Jackson in the playroom. We then had the children's classic lunch of Kraft Mac n cheese and hot dogs.
Jack went down for his nap right on time (and he went down for bed easily too! It's been an extra-ordinary day!) and I watched the latest Grey's Anatomy episode while wrapping presents. I had just the perfect amount of paper for Jackson's and Waverly's presents from Grammie and GrandPops, Uncle Mark, and Matt and I. I was glad I didn't need to get more since I was using one pattern for each of them. Easy to keep straight. I normally hate wrapping presents, but this time it didn't seem like such a chore. If was almost relaxing. I then stacked all the presents in the nursery so Jackson doesn't unwrap them early!
Jackson woke up from his nap and I hung a few more frames in his room and the play room. I reorganized Jack's room making it much neater and space efficient. I put away all of his clothes, but still need to go through and organize hb by season and size. I then finished folding laundry and put away all Mumma and Daddy's laundry (normally we just pull things out of laundry baskets for 2-3 weeks. I hate putting laundry away that much!).
Jackson was content playing with his toys in the living room, so I stayed in our bedroom and finished unpacking the last little bit of things in there. Well, we still need to take out second TV out of the box and set it up, but the box is sitting on the TV stand so it's all set to go. I didn realize how cluttered our room looked' I unpacked all the things we took to Michigan for Thanksgiving and then a suitcase that had a few random things from when we moved to TN! There were two piles of other odds and ends that needed to find homes in drawers etc. and now our room looks so nice and clean! I have some frames to go in our room but first need some prints to go in them! Some will have photos so those won't be hard to get. I have two large frames to go above the bed that I want to paint. I haven't decided what I want to go inside those yet: art, meaningful writing, family photos, his and hers... I just don't know yet.
Jack and I then played some more in the playroom and I read some chapters out of HP3. I haven't read through the first couple HP since high school. Definitely time for a reread. Dinner time was leftover manicotti. The other day I made this for the first time and it was a winner with all four of us!
I washed Jack's cloth diapers which took longer than normal because I stripped them to make them like new again. Then I did a large load of darks and am so glad I didn't wait. I didn't realize how large a load we had!
Then I did the accumulation of dishes in the sink. I hate doing the dishes so they usually pile up until we're out of bowls or plates or both. Jack likes to "help" with the dishes, but I distracted him with some plastic Christmas ornaments. Of course, he chewed on them and will probably have glitter poo.
Bath time for baby. Snuggle in baby's bed. He fell asleep after about 10 minutes which is amazing! I waited to give him his bath until he started showing signs of being tired. It seems like his bedtime just will remain set at 9ish. While it would be nice for him to go to bed around 7 like many kids his age, 9 is better than 11- which is was for the past couple weeks!
Our new double stroller arrived so I put it together. So far, I love it! Hopefully it is smooth when two kids are in it. While it does appear large, it is one of the smallest doubles I found. There are so many great features about it, but I'll do a post about it some other day.
Now to fold that dark load of laundry. I'll put it away tomorrow. I am so ready for bed! What a long, fulfilling day!
