Another week gone by. Jackson is now 48 weeks old. We are fast approaching one year. Tomorrow is his 11 month birthday! Goodness!

Jack had quite the week. We traveled to Fort Benning for DaDa's graduation from Officer Candidate School. Another post on that trip coming soon.
For now we have thoroughly enjoyed having DaDa home! We are so excited that we all get to be a family for at least the next 6 months!
DaDa and Jack had some fun in the snow this week! DaDa made Jack a snowman. Jack loved it!
Jack continues to be an excellent eater. He eats everything we put in front of him... but he is a little opinionated about his food. He knows different tastes now and sometimes doesn't want cucumber in the morning, he would prefer a cracker... etc etc etc. But he has liked all the new foods we have given him including: chicken nuggets, general tso's chicken, mushrooms, black olives, rice, crackers, tortilla chips, goldfish, and Teddy Grahams. He still eats a lot of baby food and nurses throughout the day.
Sleep: well, we're letting him do his own thing until after we move. I figured with our trip to Georgia and the move his sleep would be disrupted anyways.
Jack has been climbing over, under, and into anything and everything he finds! It is quite alarming since sometimes he crawls off the thing he climbs onto! He has bonked his head a few times, but so far, no major damage. He has been getting more bumps and bruises, but they generally fade within a few hours or by the next day. Thankfully he has not inherited his Momma's tendency to have horrible scars etc.
Jack has been figuring out how his toys are supposed to work. He remembers buttons and knobs and what they do. He is very purposeful in his playing now. He also mimics a lot of play that Momma does. He raises his hands when I do, he makes the noises I do, he has been figuring out more words by listening to Momma. Such a smart little baby! He also loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! He crawls into the room when he hears the hot dog song. He still loves to read. He prefers to turn the pages himself though. A bit independent! He loves to poke noses and mouths. Momma doesn't mind, but I'm trying to teach him to only do it when someone says "nose" or "mouth" since other people don't like it so much. I have downloaded more apps for Jack recently. Some piano apps and some paint apps. He is still figuring out how to work them, but he gets super excited when something happens when he touches the screen! Jack's new favorite game is the "up-down" game. He bends down into a squatting position when I say "down" and he pops up real quick to standing when I say "up". He does this over and over again! So adorable! He can do it on his own, but usually he's holding onto something.
Jack has been super clingy recently. I hope it's due to all the new people he's been meeting/playing with and our traveling. He has been wanting to constantly be on my lap, not just next to me. If someone reaches for him he often will turn around and climb onto me. While I do love his snuggles, I hope he gets his independence back. He has also been teething something horrible. We got him an amber necklace but I'm not too positive if it's doing much good. Of course, he could just be having a hard time with these teeth specifically. Lots of drool, which I don't mind, some runny noses, and plenty of snuggles. Poor baby- hopefully these pop through soon and he has a bit of a break before more come in.
Jack used to like showers just as much as baths, but recently he has not been a fan of showers. He wants me to hold him (which doesn't really work too well) or sit on my lap. I generally sit down and hold him while I wash him and myself. I try to give him baths every night... but it just doesn't happen all the time.
He can stand up from a sitting position without holding onto anything and without making a baby bridge first. I am so impressed! That is hard for me to do! He still isn't walking, but I'm not too worried about that. He's sturdy on his legs and with his pushing walkers.
He followed my finger when I was pointing at a snack this week. Instead of just looking at me he followed my finger until he saw what I was pointing to. Such a smart little cookie. It is so amazing to watch him learn.
This is the last week we'll be in Michigan. Next weekly post will be from Oklahoma!
