32 weeks/ 8 Months

32 weeks today! And man, has this last week been a doosy! Lots of Braxton Hicks contractions this whole month, but this past week they increased in frequency and strength. Friday night I debated having Matt take me into the hospital to check that everything was ok. With Jackson I felt the BH but they were just tight and not painful at all until well into labor (I started tracking contractions around 1 pm and they didn't hurt until around 10 pm). These contractions were coming 5 minutes apart and felt a lot like labor! If my water doesn't break I don't know how I'll differentiate from BH and labor when the time comes! I want to be sure to have enough time for Matt to come home, Jack's baby sitter to arrive, and us to get to the hospital. Anyways, yesterday evening I also began having shooting pains around my tailbone. Some research online said this can occur close to birth and may not I away until after birth. Baby is NOT ready to be born yet and I can't handle this pain for another 8 weeks! Thankfully, it is slowly lessening. I can at least walk now. Last night it was torture to stand or sit or move. I found a couple positions that didn't hurt my tailbone, but then a contraction would hit and my belly wouldn't like that position. Pair that with Jackson not sleeping well and me having to go get him back to sleep... Rough night. So hopefully this pain will go away and I'll just have to deal with BH.

Symptoms: have gained 25 lbs. to date from the start of this pregnancy. So gaining more rapidly than in the past couple trimesters, but that is also normal. I am always tired, but half (if not more) is due to Jackson's sleep schedule. No swollen ankles, feet, or hands yet that I've noticed. Definitely waddling, but mostly due to discomfort from BH and the super tight belly. Barely able to bend over to get things off the floor, but I'll be stopping that now anyways as that can lead to this tailbone pain apparently.

Cravings: lucky charms for one week. Fruity pebbles for another week. Cheese anything- grilled cheese, Mac and cheese, string cheese, chips and cheese. Rice Krispies treats. So still have a major sweet tooth!

Aversions: nothing much, thankfully.

While I do think pregnancy is beautiful and I don't think I look horrible by any means, I will be glad to get back to my old body! Throughout college and early marriage my weight fluctuated between around 15 lbs. I wasn't over weight, but I also wasn't fit. After having Jackson I was finally able to get to a good weight and stay there. I was the same weight I was in high school, which felt good. I hadn't had to buy larger clothes so I hadn't thought much of my weight fluctuation, but I hope to get back to where I was at the beginning of this pregnancy quickly and stay there.

The nursery is almost entirely finished. I love receiving items for Daniel in the mail. I had saved the last few things we needed to an amazon wish list and was able to order them once our tax return was deposited. New changing pad (since the one that came with the changing table wasn't very good), natural rubber Pacis, aden and anais swaddle blankets (didn't get with Jackson but they are so nice! Lightweight since Daniel is due at the end of April, but still warm), and my Mumma present- happy wrap! This wrap is just like a Moby wrap, but it is made of organic bamboo so much lighter to wear. Since I'll be wearing Daniel in this during the end of spring and summer I knew I would've uncomfortable in the thicker Moby wrap. So excited to use the happy wrap, and it is white and grey striped!

I can hardly believe that next month is when Daniel is due! I'm really hoping he decides to come around 37 weeks because I'm anxious to meet him and ready to be done with pregnancy. I feel ready to bring him home and learn to be a family of four. Of course, with these contractions, I hope he doesn't come too early! You still need to cook for another month, baby boy! With my SIL in the hospital until her baby boy is born (she is 27 weeks), we don't need two babies in the nicu in the family!

Prayers appreciated as we finish out this pregnancy. For health for me and Daniel, understanding for Jackson, and that the BH contractions and tailbone pain will lessen. And prayers for Jamie and baby Harrison also- that he will continue to grow healthy and strong and stay inside as long as possible and that she will have patience and strength as she has to live in the hospital away from her family.

{edit}

So after being couch ridden for most of the weekend due to the pain, I wake up from the most solid nap I've had in awhile to hear my husband doing the dishes, which is one chore he absolutely hates. He then vacuumed the living room (full of little Jack snacks that had been dropped) including under the couch, which has been difficult for me to so while pregnant. The rest helped so I was able to cook dinner (chili and cornbread, Delish!) as opposed to the quick and easy meals we've been having (i.e. Mac and cheese and hot dogs). Then I did some laundry, mopped the kitchen floor, and did the dishes from dinner. Oh man, just that little bit of standing and exertion made my legs and feet feel so tired! I brought Jackson up to the play room so I could put my feet up. Definitely have to start taking things slower and give myself breaks from here on out. Growing a human is tiring work!
