20 Weeks/ 5 Months

Alright! Almost caught up! This is my last monthly post to catch up on and then I get to write about what happened today!

5 Months! You think of pregnancy being "9 Months" so it sounds like I'm more than halfway done. But if you figure each month is 4 weeks and pregnancy lasts 40 weeks, then pregnancy is actually 10 months. So I am halfway there! Time has been going so quickly. Much more quickly than with Jackson. I go back and forth between being so excited to hold and love this new baby, and sad that Jackson will no longer be an only child. While I know that his and my relationship will remain strong it does make me sad that he will no longer have my full attention. I am sure my feelings will change once New Baby arrives, but right now it's so hard to imagine dividing my love. I am excited to see my love grow, just like it did from just Matt and I to Matt, me, and Jackson.

This month we had a friend from BOLC visit, Rachel Corneilson. It was so nice to see her and be able to share more about this pregnancy with her. It was nice to have a helping hand with Jackson too. Jackson loves to play with Miss Rachel as she has much more energy than Mumma. We also were able to get a babysitter for Jackson and go on a date night to Ender's Game. Mumma and Daddy love this book and have been waiting for a movie version for years. It did not disappoint! This was the first movie Mumma saw in theaters since Jackson was born and New Baby's first theater experience. Thankfully, Mumma didn't have to leave to go to the bathroom during the movie- she doesn't like to miss things! We also visited Michigan for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to be able to spend time with family. Grammie and Aunt CC watched Jackson while Mumma and Daddy saw Catching Fire in the theater. Two movies in one month! Ironically, the last movie I saw in a theater before Jackson was The Hunger Games. We went and saw it the Friday before Jackson was born, so we were tempting fate then!

Here is a comparison of belly size from first pregnancy and this pregnancy. Definitely larger this time around and carrying lower. Jackson always sat so high! It seems like New Baby likes to lay lower so far. Low belly is an indicator for baby girl! I did the Chinese lunar calendar also and it said "girl". Many people I've talked to said they craved sweets with their girls and more healthy foods with their boys. I am definitely craving more sweets this time around. So we'll see. I have a feeling it is another boy in there.

While I am not doing weekly pictures with this pregnancy, I found some great maternity shirts at Ross! I was so excited because they show off belly, have buttoned sleeves, and are striped! So I took a 17 weeks picture. Not big into selfies, but sometimes you just gotta show off that belly!
We bought this newborn hat and newborn booties when we were pregnant the last time. They are so adorable and snuggly! I can't wait to bring baby home in them. I'll pair them with a blue or pink outfit so it's evident which gender s/he is.

Grammie bought us a double stroller for Christmas! After searching and looking in the stores and testing out a couple, I decided on the Joovy Scooter X2. I didn't see it in person before ordering it, but I did read a lot of reviews, comparisons to the Britax double that I had planned to get, and watched the Youtube review. It has not disappointed so far! It is very manageable on my own, fits about as well in the trunk as any double stroller will (they are all so big! This is the smallest one I could find besides umbrella strollers), is super easy to maneuver, and was $100 less than the Britax! Can't wait for walks with both my babies! I am part of a walking club here with some other moms. I have yet to actually go on the walks since Jackson has been sniffly or I've forgotten each time, but it will definitely be regular for us once summer hits!

In preparation for finding out gender I went to Target. I meant to buy one cute girl outfit and one cute boy outfit. This is what I got instead.

The girl options were just too cute! I think I'll keep the hats and hair accessories even if this baby is a boy. The clothes I'll return. We don't need as many boy clothes, but this baby will need some new things! And we didn't have any newborn sleepers last time, so if baby is a boy then these will be needed! While it was probably not something I had to do, it was fun and helped build my excitement.

At 19 Weeks I had another appointment. I had to reschedule it from it's original date because our sitter wasn't available. So my appointments have been pretty off schedule so far. Everything still looked good. Baby's heartbeat was 150 bpm. I'm pretty sure Jack's was around there too though.

Symptoms:
*Nesting- finished unpacking except for the nursery, which will happen once we find out gender.
*Some physical symptoms which I outlined in my paper journal (just for my own personal reference)
*Neck and upper back aches- Daddy got Mumma monthly prenatal massages which help so much!
*On November 17, Daddy felt baby kick!
*So exhausted! I didn't even write an 18 Week update in my paper journal!
*Bad aftertaste after everything I eat
*Preggo brain- lose train of thought. Think I forgot to strap Jackson in. Read my grocery list and forget about 3 things anyways.
*Feeling baby kick/flip every day and loving it!
*Tender, firm breasts. Definitely preggo breasts! I was able to fully wean Jackson right before Thanksgiving so it's interesting all the changes my breasts have gone through the past month.
*Overly cranky
*Acne- bully
*Hard to get comfortable for sleep

Cravings:
*Bread and butter
*Salad
*Baked Potatoes
*Popsicles
*Honey Nut Chex
*Popcorn
*Rice Krispies Treats
*Ground Beef meals
*Crescent Rolls
*Chips and Dip
*Potatoes and Stuffing with Cheese sauce for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (almost made Matt gag at breakfast!)
*Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup
*Cupcakes (didn't get yet)
*Honey Kix
*Qdoba after seeing a picture, have to check if Clarksville has one

Aversions:
*Block Cheese
*Pizza
*Cauliflower smell
*Chinese- got sick after eating Golden Wok. Glad we're not in GR full time or that would make me depressed.
*Matt's cologne
*Cottage cheese
*tomato based sauce
*bananas (but not banana bread, which I made)
*chocolate

I am so thankful our house is finally almost all decorated. I decorated for Christmas when we returned from Michigan and almost all the picture frames and knick knacks are put in their proper places. Soon we can begin setting up the nursery!
