Blogging used to be cathartic. I used to have to reign myself in so I didn't blog like most people tweet. I like writing in long, flowy sentences... not abrupt, shortened thoughts. But recently life has gotten in the way of blogging. I haven't had the free time (or desire, if we're being honest) to just write about my life. Which is both good and bad. Good, because I am truly appreciating life as it comes. Moment by moment, day by day. Bad, because this blog serves as a journal for me. I keep paper journals so I will have some recollection of the past couple months in the future, but it is so much easier to search through blog titles and subjects. So, hopefully in the next week or so I can play catch up on a few posts I've been wanting to write and would be helpful to my future self. I am just so considerate of my future self, I hope future self remembers that!
So the big news:
*We have moved from Oklahoma to Tennessee and Matt is stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. So far, we are loving this area and our new home. Post to come about the move process and our new residence.
*Jackson has had many monthly birthdays. I am not so worried about writing monthly posts on him on his exact birthday like I was when he was going through his first year. But I do want to be sure I keep track of his milestones. Good for comparison for future children and just for me when I have Mommy moments where I want to go back through all his pictures and all his milestones just because. So, post updating on Jackson's newest tricks to come.
*"New baby" is on the way! We have called this baby "new baby", "baby platypus", and "gummy bear". Once we find out gender we'll settle on a more permanent nickname. We have avoided calling this baby "Baby #2" since this is not baby #2, but baby #3. I am currently 16 weeks along and am feeling baby move and not feeling so nauseated any longer. Monthly posts for the first 4 months to come.
*My literature slump. I have been reading plenty of books lately... but not "new to me" books. I don't know if I'll be able to make my New Year's Resolution for 2013 of reading 12 new books this calendar year. Which is a shame, because I was so ahead of schedule for the longest time. Then I made the mistake of re-reading one of my favorites. Since then I have been reading several of my favorites over again. Post to come on the books in progress (including a couple "new to me" books) and the favorites I've re-read.
So I'm not exactly sure when these will be written. I hope to include pictures for the posts though, so it requires me to organize my pictures from the past couple months. I need to do this anyways before a year goes by and all the pictures are lumped together in "late 2013". But hopefully now that the house is almost entirely unpacked/decorated I'll be able to use Jackson's naptime for some writing.
Happy November. And this month especially, remember that "The Enemy's gate is down" and that "fire is catching". From two of my favorite books that I re-read recently and whose movies release/d this month.
