Some things I don't want to forget:
*Yesterday, April 7, 2013, Jack went through his first car wash. We thought it would be exciting and fun for him. Especially since there is a rear seat sunroof so he can see all the water/washers on the top of the car. Well, he takes after his mother and is terrified of car washes! When I was little I thought the washers that engulfed your car looked like an octopus. I have always been afraid of the ocean and sea creatures, so this fed my fear. Well, Jack heard all the noise and saw the "Christmas tree" scrubbers (admit it, you think they look like Christmas trees too). I watched as he turned his head rapidly from one side to the other. His eyes grew wide, his mouth opened, then he scrunched his face in his silent cry before he cried out loud. Poor baby! I let him hold my hand while we were in the wash but he still whimpered until it was finished. Poor baby, Momma knows! Momma knows!
*I am in love with Jack's little wobbly walk! He is walks often throughout the day without prompting. He still has his knees locked so he looks like a little penguin waddling around. I don't want him to get used to walking because this little baby walk is too adorable!
*We tried Aveeno baby wash and bubble bath. At first I thought we were safe. Nope. The little rash/bumps appeared today. Sigh. So an order for Yes to Baby Carrots has been placed. I don't mind, because I truly love the product, I just wish a store here sold it. Back home, Meijer began to sell it and I was thrilled! No Meijer here though.
*Weaning is no fun, for baby or Momma. Baby takes a few sucks from a sippy cup with water or diluted juice or milk or breastmilk... but then he's done. He is not interested. He throws the cup. He pushes the cup away. He chews on the cup nozzle and then spits out the drink- making a big, sticky mess. Sigh. He climbs on me, pulls on my shirt, nuzzles my chest, and whines "mum mum mum". Breaks-my-heart. So generally I give in. It doesn't help that he's had a miserable cold this week either. I decided to take weaning slowly. The only reason I'm even beginning is because we hope to have baby number 2 in the next year. I'll give Jack until 18 months. Hopefully he'll take to a sippy cup before then.
